About

A Farsi encyclopedia that’s mostly in English?

Yes. Absolutely. If two nations ever needed to learn to get along, it’s Iran and America. And that is exactly where the idea for creating these manuals began- to create a series of books for those of us that want to learn about each other. Learning is the first step in understanding.

So you you want to know more about one of the most shrouded nations on Earth? Or maybe you came here because you want to date an Iranian? Or maybe you are planning to visit your family in Iran? Maybe you are an Iranian living overseas and homesick for a a little slice of home? Or maybe you just got your tourist visa to the land of Iran and are trying to plan your trip?

Whatever your reason for wanting to know more about Iran, the Little Farsi Manuals are here to help you. Not only did we set out to create a book series, which will soon be available on Amazon, but we also wanted to create this website to broaden your world to include Iran. If all goes well, we’d even like to create a social network so our users can meet one another

So where did we get such a crazy idea?

We are married couple, an Iranian and an American, trying to bridge our two cultures. She is an American that’s been in America so long that her family was there even before America became America in 1776. She grew up in small town Midwest on apple pie and rock n’ roll. He, on the other hand, grew up in a large city in western Iran in a family of clerics and jummah prayers. Needless to say, at times, it hasn’t been easy task to find common ground.

But the Iranian personality is pleasant and adaptive and using American ingenuitity and confidence, we have been able to overcome much and find solutions. Initially, she had a some fear of anything having to do with Iran. Overtime, she’s learned that Iran is more than just the iron curtain of death that she grew up shivering about on TV. After living in Iran, her lasting impression of the people could be summarized in one word. Civilized. And that’s the thing that most people don’t realize about Iran; it’s full of kind people that hold all the layers of wisdom that come with having an ancient empire.

It isn’t Arabia. It isn’t Europe. It isn’t China or the Orient. It is Iran; it’s own unique place. If our series of books can help you discover a new people, new perspective or new insight into the people of Iran – then we have done our job.
